Description

Through the StEAR Enhancement Fund, a total of $300,000 is available to support community-led initiatives that advance broad campus equity and anti-racism priorities aligned with UBC’s StEAR Framework and Roadmap for Change. For fall/winter 2024, three calls for proposals will take place between September and December.

Applicants can apply for funds from $500 and up to $10,000 per project.

    • Adjudication on September 26

    • Opens October 1 and closes October 28
    • Adjudication on November 7
  3. Call 3
    • Opens November 18 and closes December 16
    • Adjudication on January 9

Application requirements

To be considered for funding from the StEAR Enhancement Fund, you must submit an application through this portal. Click on the Apply button on this page to start a new application. Please log-in using your CWL.

Once you initiate the application by clicking on the Apply button, you will first be asked to enter a title for your project. Please use the same project title later in the application form.

Submission details

To submit an application, you must complete the online application form. 

You are able to invite collaborators to view and/or edit the application alongside you. You can start the application and come back to it at a later date. Please make sure you click Save before leaving the session. 

When you are done filling out the application, click Complete to finalize the application and then make sure you also click on the Submit button at the end of the process. You can monitor the progress of your application by logging back into this application portal.

Once the application has been reviewed and a decision made, you will receive an email notifying you of your results.

The following information is requested and may require some additional pre-work. Please ensure you allocate sufficient time to complete these tasks.

Within the application form you will need to:

  • Upload a project budget (as a PDF) using the supplied or similar project budget template (in a PDF format).
  • Upload a letter of support (as a PDF) from an endorser (a dean, director or an official representative from the AMS, GSS, or the SUO). Please note that you will need to reach out to an endorser ahead of time to secure the letter in time for the application deadline
  • Provide contact information for a relevant finance contact in a UBC administrative or academic body or student society (care of a student club or group). Please note that you will need to reach out to the appropriate finance contact in a Faculty, department or unit ahead of time to confirm they are willing and able to accept and hold funds for your project. We are not able to transfer funds to an individual.
